- 2 cups tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- To make the koftas, combine the crumbled paneer, mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, chopped cashews, raisins, ginger paste, garlic paste, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Mix well to combine.
- Shape the mixture into small balls or oval-shaped dumplings.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the koftas until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
- To make the sauce, heat the oil in a separate pan over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add the ginger paste and garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- Add the tomato puree to the pan and stir well.
- Add the ground coriander, cumin, paprika, garam masala, and salt to the pan and stir well to combine.
- Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have blended together.
- Stir in the heavy cream and mix well.
- Add the fried koftas to the sauce and simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish the Malai Kofta with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
