Garlic bread

Garlic bread is a popular side dish or appetizer that features slices of bread infused with garlic and butter, resulting in a flavorful and aromatic treat. Here’s a simple recipe for making garlic bread:

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, creating two long halves. You can also slice it into individual pieces, depending on your preference.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley (if using), and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to cover the entire surface area.
  5. Place the garlic bread on a baking sheet or a piece of aluminum foil.
  6. Bake the garlic bread in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the butter is melted and bubbly. You can also broil it for a minute or two at the end to get a golden brown crust.
  7. Remove the garlic bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. This allows the butter to set slightly.
  8. Slice the garlic bread into individual pieces and serve it warm.

Garlic bread is a versatile side dish that complements a wide range of meals, such as pasta, soups, salads, or grilled meats. You can also sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top of the garlic butter for added flavor. Enjoy the delicious aroma and taste of homemade garlic bread!
