Beijinho

Beijinho, which means “little kiss” in Portuguese, is a popular Brazilian sweet treat that is often served at parties and celebrations. It is made with condensed milk, coconut, and butter, and is rolled into small balls and coated with sugar. Here is a recipe for beijinho:

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • Cloves for decoration (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, butter, and shredded coconut.
  2. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  4. Once the mixture has cooled, grease your hands with butter or cooking spray and roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat it evenly.
  6. If desired, insert a clove into the top of each beijinho for decoration.
  7. Transfer the beijinhos to a plate and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Beijinho is a sweet and delicious treat that is perfect for sharing with friends and family. You can also experiment with adding other flavors such as cocoa powder, lemon zest, or almond extract to the mixture for a different twist. Enjoy!
