Beef stir fry



Beef stir fry is a flavorful and healthy dish that is quick and easy to prepare. Here’s a simple recipe to make beef stir fry at home:
Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until the cornstarch is completely dissolved and set aside.
  2. Heat a large wok or skillet over high heat, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, and swirl to coat the pan.
  3. Add the beef strips and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until they are browned on all sides.
  4. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
  5. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan, and then add the onion and garlic. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, until the onion is translucent.
  6. Add the bell peppers, mushrooms, and broccoli, and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Return the beef to the pan, and add the sauce mixture. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and coated the beef and vegetables.
  8. Season the beef stir fry with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve the beef stir fry over a bed of steamed rice or noodles, and garnish with sliced scallions or sesame seeds if desired.
